Now I shall attempt to talk about this long weekend ha ha ha

 Silk Road with @magmuffins !!! 

So recently mag showed me pics of amazing looking China noodles and we decided to meet there for dinner!! And wow best decision of the week I think other than going to acai affair haha

Like seriously when a restaurant serves you not one but TWO 小菜 you already know it's gon be good right?

I present to you my favourite dish of the night - our $3 chili oil pickles which we told the waitress we liked but she did not refill it although we were good customers 😤 she is not our friend lol

Anw there's this new inner Mongolia dude there so they are currently having a special menu featuring special noodles and dumplings!! Also this menu is way more affordable than the normal menu so yah faster go. I am planning to go again ☻

This was like beef noodles? The noodles were udon style but uhm very plain cos the beef broth was also very plain but the braised beef was so tender and savoury and yummy!

Braised pork noodles? THIS ONE THE NOODLE DAMN THICK AND NICE AND CHEWY COS IT'S KNIFE-SHAVED NOODLES.

Omg i really liked this one. It's like better than all the ban man I've had in singapore although I'm not sure that's a fair comparison

But this one!! This one was our FAV. It's like china pappardelle (cos the noodle was thick and wide and flat) with China meat sauce. So yummy I love all the china spices hahaha

Good stuff but there were only FOUR strands of noodles. I think i could eat EIGHT strands by myself.

We were both having a not so great week at work so we decided to treat ourselves with some si ji dou also!

This was quite special like I feel they had some magical ingredient in it which made it different from other places like maybe a pickled or preserved vegetable that was quite crunchy??

YUM and of course we had to get the dumplings! These were so unique like they were just pieces of meat rolled up (but not enclosed) in dumpling skin hehe with lots of the crispy lattice thing. Very good omg

I am trying to convince Bratty to go with me again. If yall are good friends you will also help to convince him, tq.

This menu is till the end of April or may I think? So I have very little time to go!!

Also we had grand plans to have a matchaya parfait after dinner!! And we were very happy we weren't that full (portions were pretty small) BUT BECAUSE WE HAD TO OT.... matchaya was closed by the time we were done with dinner. Ugh Matchaya can you plez open till 10???

 💸 $14 Tater Tots 💸 

So the other day we went to PBD for dinner and I saw Tater Tots on the menu but like this uncle was standing at the board? So I didn't see the price and I just assumed it would be like 8 bucks or something cos it's like Tater Tots right but yah omg it was $14 😱 hahahahhahaha omg damn ex our meal was $60 😢

To be fair, it was a HUGE portion haha and it was satisfying and tasty!!

Chicken sandwich!! Not sure if we were already full from the Tater Tots, but this tasted very average??

A little disappointed with our choice, should have gone for the grilled cheese instead!

Hehe but their cheese steak never disappoints!! 😋😋😋

 Exploring Everton Park 

I always thought Everton Park was like a condo? But hey it's actually a gentrified HDB estate. It's super hipster, probably the second most hipster hdb estate after tiong bahru haha

Came here for lunch because it was otw to OBar!!

It's a super chill place, and it's like right out of a scene from Aloha State hehe the owner was also v nice and friendly. You can order from this machine thing, but if you want to change your rice to brown rice you have to tell him because there's no option on the machine.

We didn't know so we ended up with white rice

I really like how affordable this place is!! Drinks are like 2 bucks?

I had a watermelon drink that was super refreshing cos I think they added lemon in it

Bratty had a spice pineapple iced tea which was uhm interesting hahaha it tastes like lor bak the lor tng you know what I mean? Hahaha okay la it was just not my thing? I would recommend getting the watermelon drink over this any day

We got 2 combos and 2 drinks and our total bill was.... 32?? Omg half of what we spent at PBD!!

Btw the rice balls look like boobs right? It cracks me up like is this really how they serve it in hawaii?

Bratty's rainbow special came with salmon and tuna in a miso sauce served with spiced carrots.

The seasoning for this was very light and fresh and it just coats the fish so when you bite into it you can still taste the sashimi? Quite a nice change from places where they marinate the sashimi in the sauce and just store it over the counter.

My kai kolea is just salmon in a spicy korean sauce. The sauce is quite different from the spicy sauce at other places like Aloha poke and alter ego. Those are decidedly more western I guess?

I was expecting like KIMCHI sauce for some reason but I think it's just gochujang?? I loved the spicy cucumber pickles also.

Not a fan of the mash potato and macaroni salad though, thought it was kinda strange but when I ate that with the cucumbers it was pretty decent!!

PLEZ SUPPORT THEM. it was so quiet when I went ☹

I feel like the guy here has a lot of heart and pride in his food haha and also although it's quite a different style from other poke places, this place is really value for money la. One bowl is only 13.95?? And the amount of fish was quite sizeable 🤗🤗

After lunch we took a walk around the estate

And ended up at Nylon Coffee Roasters

Many places were closed cos of the long weekend I think!! But I wanna come back to try marble bistro and the provision shop and buy ji xiang ang ku kuehs

Hehe I also never knew how central everton park is? It's just next to outram!! We both wanna live here now 😂😂😂

 OBar 4th Anniversary 

Got dragged down to OBar because if you're the first 70 to spend $50 you can 2 bottles of beer worth $50 lol?? I really cannot understand why you wouldn't just spend $50 buying the 2 bottles of beer....

But i guess boys and beer is really equivalent to girls and makeup.

Like if today sephora told you if you spend $50 you'll get like 2 kat von d eyeliners I think all the gurls be going cray too?

So yah we spent $20 on 2 pints of beer and then $30 on 3 portions of roast pork!! So crazy hahahaha

And we dapaoed the 3rd portion back cos we didn't want to eat it alr.... and on the way to an acai affair Bratty was like 'do your friends want?' so I texted Mag to ask if she wanted and she said yes then Bratty said no cannot it's mine

!!! Outrageous !!! He cheat all our feelings hahahahaha he said he wanted to be generous but then he decided he wanted to eat the roast pork 😂😂😂

I told Bratty I was gonna find a cute and funny guy and he GROWLED at me 😂😂

Our second cup which I felt was more shiok cos more acai so more refreshing!!! 😋😋😋

What a happy day we had making a new friend!!! Lol I was telling Mag like usually i decide to be friends with people after a year but hey i made a new friend in a day!!

Okay I'm going to have to split my weekend into 2 posts as I want to spend the final hours of Sunday watching Timeless on Netflix (Scottie from suits is the lead and omg she is so damn pretty!!!)
