Butterball's Archives - CNY Cookies 2017 / Dominique Ansel's Banana Bread

Started on CNY baking round 0. It was a good trial run -  split my batch of batter into 3 so I could try out bak kwa and shrimp fat cookies too.

Salted egg yolk cookies :)

These were the shrimp fat cookies. The moment I mixed in the fat I KNEW it was gonna be good 

Bak kwa cookies! They were average. I probably should do more research on this instead of winging it 😂

YAY! My new favourite are these shrimp fat cookies - full of that rich, heady shrimp flavour 😘😘  bratty keep stealing them!

Shout out to my 40 cents fake leaves from taobao. You guys always have my back even though u cheap af *tears in eyes*

I'm actually not really selling them this year, sorry hehe my orders are 80% for friends 😅😅 and that's almost more than I'm willing to handle (excluding the ones I gave my relatives omg how did I do it with my tiny oven)

I feel bad cos bratty created this whole google form thing for me which was really nice but I didn't even really use it oops. Maybe next yr!! 

Evidently I am on a baking spree as I'm baking banana bread cos Mag sent me this recipe and I was like super intrigued by it because I've not baked banana bread using this method!!

 Dominique Ansel Banana Bread 

My bananas were hardly overripe though... they were just... RIPE but I was lazy to wait and I was also lazy to brown them in the oven. Omg is this why I'm not Dominique Ansel? Is this why I didn't invent cronuts?

Woah my loaf pan was NOT big enough

So I had 3 extra mini ones and they are very cute

And wow if i may praise myself (and also Dominique Ansel of course) this banana bread looks FAB.

It's very easy to make as well and now all that's left to do is HOPE IT TASTES AS GOOD AS IT LOOKS. I will update on the taste later haha

Comments from Bratty: 8/10 cos it could be more banana-y. This my friends is why overripe bananas are important I guess teehee

My personal comments: the nutmeg flavour is abit too strong for me, think I might reduce it next time but otherwise the crumb is really quite tender as most reviews have said and it's also quite moist ✔✔
