Anw prior to my tragic food poisoning episode, I actually had a pretty great weekend starting with

It was a dramatic Friday though. EVERYONE HAD WORK AT 5 ISH okay and remember how I said my boss called me at 531pm? And I'm like hello we have steamboat at 630pm okay! Lol no la I didn't say that but yah we ended up only leaving at 6pm and because we left in 2 groups we had an amazing race to paya lebar #chuckles

SO yas this was dinner for 6 hungry gurls 😻 BITP is really so satisfying but aiyah i think going to the centrepoint outlet is better cos you can have 4 soup bases instead of 2.

I conclude that no steamboat is ever complete without

1. Mala soup
2. Lots of meat
3. Tripe and intestines
4. Enoki
5. Beancurd skin
6. Quail eggs
7. FEN TIAO

Hehe it was a good night 😊 I'm glad I have friends at work I don't think I could survive the banality otherwise

 Pancakes with Celene 

Nassim Hill Bakery Bistro Bar

Been wanting to come here for such a long time and we finally did!! Hehe and we were SUPPOSED to use the entertainer app but lol we were talking and talking and talking and we just forgot aiyo 😢😢😢

Pancakes were good but I think the chilli crab pasta truly exceeded expectations! I liked how this wasn't too sweet because I've tried so many versions and the sauce ended up being too sweet/one dimensional. Also it was pretty spicy and that is always a good thing to me lol

 🧀 Cheese Cookies 🧀 

Tried out 2 Dorie Greenspan cheese cookies recipes last week - 1. parmesan rosemary and 2. smoked gouda and cayenne

The gouda one turned out FUGLY HAHA

Could be that I didn't blend my cheese enough or that my cheese was too cheap lmao

Taste wise these were pretty good though. Very savoury and addictive but lez b real. You cant serve no fugly cookies at a cocktail event or whatever so yah i gotta go try this again

The rosemary and parmesan looked a lot better though. I'm glad 🤗

I think these are still a tad too sweet so I'll cut down the sugar next time. Like from 3tbsp to maybe 2?

Since they were good and presentable I brought them along for Bratty's beer friends 🍻

Good thing too because we had to wait till 9pm for steamboat.

Lol yah steamboat again 😂😂 because when his beer friends asked what's for dinner I yelled HDL then Bratty yelled no space!! Then I said okay BITP or shangpin confirm have so I called them and shangpin had the earlier slot so yah we all went for steamboat keke

Yay!! I love mala steamboats I rly do and I'm so glad Keshia was there because the guys were like full after the first round then I was like huh???

Hahaha then Bratty said maybe Charlie is scared of me now after seeing how much I eat 😂 oops

The intestines here were really good we had like 2 large bowls.

Okay after having BITP and shangpin back to back i wld say just stick to BITP/HDL though? The soup bases at BITP are rly super good la and you can tell there is a difference in quality although shangpin is slightly cheaper

 Valentine's Brunch 

I asked for a surprise this Valentine's day hahahahahaha and after much resistance I was brought to a surprise location for brunch!! 🎉

Humpback

We celebrated on Sunday because Bratty is in Japan now!!

Anw was quite pleased with the location because

1. Hipster
2. Relatively quiet
3. I've not heard of it

Idk if this really gave me food poisoning but if it did and I can't have oysters anymore.... it's a pretty good platter to end my oyster adventures with anw.

We got two of each type available and double the portion of the kusshi because they're so small and plump and just the right balance of creamy and briny

The oysters were quite affordable cos it was at happy hour pricing. Think they were $2-3 each.

Yellow fin tuna with crispy breaded egg and some ginger sauce. It was $10 for this portion and honestly I didn't expect it to be so tiny 😢

KALE SALAD

Think this was my fav dish of the day. I loved the buttermilk dressing and how they had kale chips in addition to the kale leaves for a contrast in texture.

Scrambled eggs with bottarga and pork crackling. This was okay only! Wish we had gone with the fried egg or eggs benedict instead.

What I like about their egg dishes is that you can choose either a half portion or a full portion. This was a half portion!!

And YASSS while ordering I was showing him girls on my ig who got flowers for valentines day and he asked

'Flowers or lobster roll'

Obviously lobster roll right? I mean like Grace told me today roses were $18 per STALK?? Can eat half a lobster roll you know hahahaha

But then we shared so technically I got half a lobster roll 😂 anw this was good. Lots of lobster even though the toast kinda overpowered the delicate lobster flavour. In the end I ate then separately hahahaha

After brunch, I said we MUST go to tiong bahru

I bought cupcakes!! And then I left them at brattys house but nvm la cos I thought he could pass them to me on Monday BUT I was sick so we did not meet.

AND THEN BRATTY ATE THE CUPCAKES WHICH WERE NOT MEANT FOR HIM 😣

Also we went to forty hands

For the sole purpose of eating tau sar pau haha I was so pleased cos in my head I thought the tau sar pau was $4 but it was only $2.50 hahahahahahahaha would have gotten 1 more if I weren't so lazy to steam the pau

 Populus 

Had brunch with char and Vanessa 2 weekends ago here.

Yum first time trying this glorified beef rendang bowl and it was great. No regrets I loved every component esp the nutty rendang and the achar

Was also delighted that the fried chicken and spring onion pancake was super on point that day.

When I came with Bratty previously I was so disappointed by how dense and oily it was.

But this was perfect that day and I was pleased as pie!! This is truly my favourite item on the menu when they get it right.

Pulled pork grain bowl was also not bad but we were stuffed from the first 2 mains so we ate less than half of this hahaha

AND still insisted on ordering the dark chocolate soft serve hahahaha #gurls 😂😂 this was fab and I have a craving for it now!!
